Combine JPG, PNG and WebP images into one file

You can mix JPG, PNG and WebP source files in the same project. Choose a layout first, then choose one format for the download. There is no need to convert every image to the same file type before combining them.

How to merge JPG and PNG files together

  1. Open the image combiner and add your JPG, PNG or WebP images.
  2. Choose Horizontal, Vertical, Grid, Collage or Freeform and arrange the pictures.
  3. Choose Output format. The selected format applies to the whole combined image.
  4. For JPEG or WebP, adjust quality. For JPEG, choose a background color.
  5. Download the combined file. Your original source files stay unchanged.

JPG and JPEG are two filename extensions for the same image format. Both work here. HEIC, GIF, SVG, PDF and camera RAW files are not supported inputs; convert those to JPG, PNG or WebP in another application first.

Should you download PNG, JPEG or WebP?

Choose a format based on the content and destination
FormatGood choice forTradeoff
PNGText, screenshots, diagramsLossless encoding; photo-heavy files can be large.
JPEGPhotos, email, print servicesAdjustable lossy quality; requires a solid background.
WebPWeb pages and supported appsAdjustable lossy quality here; check destination support.

To combine PNG screenshots, export PNG to avoid adding JPEG artifacts around letters and interface edges. To merge JPG photos for sharing, start with JPEG at 90% quality and inspect the downloaded result. No format is always the smallest for every image.

Background color and transparent space

JPEG cannot store transparency. The background color fills the spaces between your photos and the outer padding. PNG and WebP allow transparent space around tiles when you enable Transparent.

The current renderer gives each tile an opaque backing, so transparent pixels inside a source PNG do not remain transparent through that tile. Use this option for clear gutters or space around a collage; it is not a background-removal tool.

Keep text sharp and file sizes manageable

Output format controls compression; layout controls resizing. PNG cannot restore details lost by enlarging a small source. In a vertical stack, Scale to match uses the widest image; horizontally, it uses the tallest. Smaller images may be enlarged to match.

Choose Keep original sizes in a stack layout when you need the source pixel dimensions preserved. For photos, reducing JPEG or WebP quality can shrink the download without changing its width and height. PNG has no quality slider.

  • Check the exported image at 100% zoom to judge text and fine details.
  • Start with sources of similar dimensions to avoid unnecessary enlargement.
  • Use fewer or smaller source images if the output exceeds browser limits.
  • Leave this page open to keep working offline after it has loaded; offline page reloads are not guaranteed.

Source files are limited to 40 MB each. The combined canvas is capped at 16,384 px per edge and 140 megapixels in total, and a device may run out of memory earlier. A smaller compressed JPEG still needs enough memory to render the full canvas before it can be downloaded.

For task-specific settings, see merging screenshots, making a photo grid or putting two photos side by side.
